How to share and market your Real Estate Listing Video

Video Marketing Guide

Now that you have an amazing real estate listing video, what’s the best way to get the most value out of it?

Drawing on over 5 years of experience shooting videos for luxury realtors, I offer my clients three versions of their listing video to get the most value out of each shoot: (1) the full-length video, (2) an un-branded video (the full-length video without any agent branding), and (3) an Instagram teaser video (a short teaser that is less than 60 seconds and formated into a square.

Below, I will walk you through how you can take full advantage of each version.

I deliver my finished videos to my clients via a Google Drive download link. Simply download the video onto your device and then upload it to the respective platform.

Vimeo

Offering a cleaner interface and a professional edge over YouTube, Vimeo is an ideal platform to host your main video. For agents who are serious about their video listing, the platform offers a Pro account for $20/month (https://vimeo.com/store/pro).

  • Upload your full-length video to Vimeo, pick a good thumbnail that showcases the most appealing feature of the house, and use the video’s title as the full address.

    • To share a video directly with your client, use the Vimeo video link.

    • To post the video on your property listing website, use the Vimeo embed code.

    • For an email campaign, use the Vimeo video link.

  • Upload the un-branded version to Vimeo and adjust the privacy setting to “unlisted.”

    • Use this format for MLS.

Instagram

Instagram has proven itself to be a highly visual, go-to platform for real estate listing videos.

  • Upload the Instagram teaser to your feed. Pick a good thumbnail, use targeted hashtags [#RealEstateCityName, #LuxuryRealEstate, etc.], and be sure to tag any real estate partners (and your brokerage) in the video description.

  • You can also upload Instagram teaser to your stories. Since IG stories breaks the video into 15-second increments, focus on sharing the first 15 seconds of the video.

Zillow, Facebook, and LinkedIn

Here are some other creative options to consider if you want to share your video more broadly. That being said, I recommend that you only share your video on the platforms that you find value in (i.e., the networks you connect with your ideal buyer).

  • Upload the full-length video to Zillow by using this link: https://www.zillow.com/manage-videos

  • Upload the full-length video to your LinkedIn page

  • Upload the full-length video to your professional Facebook page. Be sure to tag any real estate listing partners and your brokerage. You might also consider:

    • Sharing the video on your personal Facebook feed

    • Posting it in real estate groups

By following this guide, you can get the most value from your real estate listing video.
